Jungle Trip

Departure: Daily

Day 1 You will be picked up from your hotel and taken to the harbor. By boat we pass by Indian villages and boats that function as public transport. The lodges are in the middle of the jungle over 130km from Iquitos. With your guide you go in canoes or you go walking to the �Pungal�, depending on the water level. This is an area that has several strangle figs, which is the favorite place of Hoatzin birds, these birds look like a prehistoric ones, because they have three hooks in their wings middle articulation. In the evening, you can fish in the Sapote Lake, where you can find different species of piranhas, sardines, etc., while you look to the beautiful sunset of the jungle. At night we see caimans which hide themselves at the shores of the river. Their bright yellow eyes sparkle in the moonlight. (L,D)

Day 2 Today you will make a hike at the back of the lodge where you will observe a variety of flora: the giant Ceiba Trees and fauna: the pygmy marmoset, the smallest monkey in the world, different species of birds and colorful butterflies or maybe felines. This hike can last seven hours, depending on your physical condition. In the afternoon, you will enjoy the greenest sunset of your life while fishing piranhas. During this trip you will also get the change to see the biggest aquatic plant in the world, the famous Victoria Regia. (B,L.D)

Day 3 By canoe you will to observe different types of birds like parrots, macaws, toucans, egrets, hawks, ducks, etc, also sloths and several monkeys. We visit a real jungle village. Life goes on, despite our arrival. People sleep in hammocks, do little jobs, cook, talk and live their life. After a refreshing dive in a lagoon our jungle adventure has almost come to an end. After lunch we sail back to Iquitos. (B,L.D)

Day 4 Early wake up for a bird watching trip. Birds start their day eating in the trees. Bring your binoculars to see macaws, toucans, parrots, herons, hawks, ducks and many other birds. In the meantime colonies of monkeys jump from tree to tree. The peak of the trip will certainly be the pink dolphins. You won�t find them anywhere else in the world. As soon as we stop some curious dolphins will swim in our direction. If we are lucky we can even swim with them! We visit a real jungle village. Life goes on, despite our arrival. People sleep in hammocks, do little jobs, cook, talk and live their life. After a refreshing dive in a lagoon our jungle adventure has almost come to an end. After lunch we sail back to Iquitos.
